I am proud to have voiced the range of economic concerns and ideas that so many of you have brought forward over the past four years. I am prouder still of the investments we’ve been able to make in response.

REAL RESULTS

• Raised income taxes on the wealthiest 1% and lowered them for 9 Million middle class Canadian families.

• Established the Canada Child Benefit and pulled 300,000 Canadian kids out of poverty

• Canada Workers Benefit delivering up to $2,335 per year to workers in our communities to improve their skills

• Increased benefits to improve economic security for seniors, such as the OAS, GIS, and CPP.

• Making life more affordable for students by increasing Canada Student Grants by 50%, reducing interest on Canada Student Loans, and not requiring students to pay back their loans until they earn at least $25,000 per year.

• Added more than 1 Million new jobs to the Canadian economy and achieved the lowest unemployment rate in Canadian History

• Invested $2.5 Billion over five years in research and science to discover the jobs of tomorrow

• Delivering $6 billion worth of high-speed internet infrastructure over 6 years
