MINISTER FREELAND TOURS MICHELIN PLANT AFTER COMPANY ADDED OR MADE PERMANENT 350 JOBS AT GRANTON LOCATION

NEW TRADE DEALS WITH EUROPE, THE UNITED STATES, AND MEXICO HELP MAKE PICTOU COUNTY MORE COMPETITIVE

A strong government is one that looks after workers and brings more opportunity to our communities.

With a record-low unemployment rate, and more than 1,000,000 more Canadians working now than in 2015, our economy is doing historically well. Here at home, the effects are being felt locally after Michelin announced it would be adding or making permanent 350 at its Granton facility. Thanks to the negotiation of strong trade deals, and positive economic conditions, our government has made Canadian manufacturers stronger competitors in the global marketplace. This helps create good paying jobs across Canada. Here at home, for the first time in a generation, more young people are moving back home for work instead of heading out west.

Simply put, our economic plan is working!
